Tiny Pub update- Spring is finally upon us!

Here is the tiny pub, sans snow:
Notice still a SMALL amount of snow, off the the right...

A bit muddy, but nice and warm inside- no heat needed!!
Let's have a tour-
Read for about 2 hours, and then played guitar a bit, through my cigar box amp-
My precious Peavey Power slide had hardly gone out of tune at all!  So, in celebration, I made up a quick tune...

See what fun we have at the tiny pub?  Even when it's just ME??

The Pub will open before long!

So today, March 15, I put on my boots and went through the remaining snow down to the Pub in the woods- Duke's Tiny Pub and Golf Club!  I replaced the Milwaukee Tool contractor's boom box sound system with the small, cigar box amplifier you see in the foreground on the bar...

Great sound, and runs on 4 aa batteries- and I can also play my electric guitars through it!!

Good for me, but bad for all the solitude and silence folks that might want a little quiet...

Not really, I'll only play if begged, and when I'm the only one there.  Really enjoying jamming along with drum tracks on my iPhone lately!
The propane Mr. Heater started right up, and the temps are now up to almost 60 degrees F in the pub; 30 outside.  Left the heater on, and will go back down later when it is really warm, and maybe bring my guitar.

Soon we will have the grand opening- I will announce the date here, so stay tuned!

This will be one fun year in the Pub!!

Duke's Tiny Pub, 2014

So, I trudged on down to the Tiny Pub, down in our backwoods.   I fired up the Mr. Heater propane heater, and thought about how I'd come back later that afternoon- (It was in the 30's...)

When I returned, after a few hours of running errands, and putting some meat on the grill, it was...

just under 60 degrees! (see photo above)

Very adequate to go back down, along with Zeke the cat, and enjoy the ambiance of the tiny pub!

I listened to music via the Milwaukee Sound Box, which has wonderful audio!  As I listened, I surveyed my tiny domain, and thought of all the improvements of the future-

Believe it or don't, I WANT to have a:

Golf cart to transport people down and back to the pub!

Finish the back bar- the "brass" panels are falling off...

Brew a batch of my own ALE for patrons!

And, add a Mailbox in front, along with the Duke's tiny pub sign, and various lights and accoutrements...

THIS WILL BE FUN!!

More photos will be forthcoming, dudecicles!!

Duke's Tiny Irish Pub and Golf Club gets nearer to completion!

Ok, this tells you the ongoing saga of Duke's Tiny Irish Pub and Golf Club!!

Today, we put up the Backbar (note the shine brass behind me), and assorted other tasks, like hanging the mirror.  This tiny pub is really starting to take shape!!

We have a Mr. Heater propane heater installed, with a 20 pound cylinder outside, with a hose running into the heater... works GREAT!!

37 degrees today, and a steady 70 inside the pub as we worked!  I think we'll take the electric heater out to use in the house this chilly Wisconsin Winter, and rely on the hotter propane throughout the Winter months... the electric heater, with a thermostat!, was great in the Fall...

But in Winter- we just need real crankin' heat!

No subtle layers of heating need apply...

We put up a bunch of Arnold Palmer golf pictures on the "golf wall", and some other Duke items, but there is an endless amount that we want to add to this tiny pub!  Stay tuned: there will be numerous and endless updates about this new obsession of a Tiny Pub- We've got the heat thing all figured out; although we'll update when it's 20 below 0- but now, we are thinking of getting a:

1 Golf cart to transport folks that can't (of won't!) walk to the Pub!
2 To transport females to the bathroom up in the house rather than build an outhouse!!

Some of these golf carts are really cool- I mean, they look like 65 Mustangs (we have a real one!), and work like 4 wheel drive vehicles, except electric and silent.  Very appealing for running around our very rural neighborhood indeed!!

And so, there you go- another update on the Tiny Pub!

Go ahead and join us in this strange obsession, if you will!  It really is a fun, wholesome, and good thing to concentrate on, that is if you are like us!

The one other thing you might want to consider is my other obsession, maximizing health!

If so, consider a Vitamix Blender, to get maximum nutrition!  Get ample veggies, and ample EVERYTHING, easily, with your Vitamix- and now- through December 2, there is an incredible sale on ALL of the Vitamixes, which are great for blended drinks in your Tiny Pub, as WELL as the most nutritious drinks you could ever have in your HOME!!  (double duty!!)

Free shipping, best reduced price ever, and... you will simultaneously outfit your tiny pub!!

WOW!  Eyayuh!!  Go for it dudes!!

We decorate our Pub!

This is the first installment about our wonderful little getaway: our backyard Pub!

It is quite new in our yard-it is made by local Amish, and we had it delivered on a flatbed trailer.

It was a long hill to go down, but the driver made it no problem, and even angled it how we wanted!  How exciting- our own little "playhouse" for two little 61 year olds...

We thought we had made up the concept, when we thought to memorialize Jane's dad, Duke, by naming a little pub  Duke's Country Club and Irish Pub.  But then, going on line, I find that the tiny pub is a phenomenon in Britain!  What a surprise: we thought we had invented the whole concept!  But then, who really cares about where it all originated- all I know is that the whole concept, and bringing it to fruition is a whole heck of a lot of fun!!

And so, I expect a lot of these little pubs to be springing up, a few here in our little neighborhood in Western Wisconsin (so we can "bar hop" on our tractors), and others in other states where we have friends and relations!

Why not join us??  Make your own tiny pub!!

It is a lot of fun, and we are barely started yet- the sky is the limit in terms of what you can do to decorate and get it up and running, and since it is so small, a low budget goes a long way!
We ran a heavy duty extension cord out from the garage, and have a small electric heater and a Mr. Buddy propane heater- together, they keep our Pub toasty and cozy- just right for drinking some real ale or apple cider, reading with a cat on your lap...
